2017 Cockpit
(This setup is outdated. An update for my 2018 TCR kit will follow!)

- USB charger (Cycle2Charge connected to Velogical rim dynamo)
- 2 Food pouches (Revelate Designs)
- rear mirror (Busch&Müller) (one of my favourite accessoires!)
- cycle computer (Sigma)
- bicycle bell (CatEye)
- GPS navigation (Garmin Edge Explore 1000)
- aero-bars (Profile Design)
- drybag (Sea-to-Summit)
- strap (blue) to attach another bottle
- remote control Garmin (makes handling easier)
2017 Lighting & Electricity
Busch & Müller IQ-X. Incredible power (100Lux) and a very wide, far, bright and quite even beam. The light’s body is small enough to fit to the shaft of my fork under my handle-bar bag. Rearlight: Busch & Müller Secular plus.
Additionally I usually ride with one blinking LED-battery light attached to the back of my backpack and one bright LED-battery front light attached to my helmet.
All of this makes me look a bit like a Christmas tree, but I think lit Christmas trees are prominent enough on the road to not be run over.
Energy: Velogical rim-dynamo. So, not from a hub dynamo. This is mainly because I really like my bike’s wheels and found the installation of a dynamo hub too invasive. Also, I can detach it from the wheel when not in use, saving some Watts. The Velogical is not cheap (150€) but certainly cheaper than a new dynamo hub and installation. The energy output is unbelievable as it supply simultaneously the light and the USB-Outlet! It weighs next to nothing.
Cycle2Charge USB outlet: This guarantees that in the worst case I could do without charging breaks. I don’t use it often, but if I do, I use it at night when the dynamo is activated anyway. In that case I use it to recharge a power bank or my phone directly. Of course it is not as strong as a regular socket, but it does the job remarkable well.
